In the early stages of slumber
I lie awake and think of you
You visit me in my dreams
Always brightening up my view

When I need to see your face
I close my eyes and there you are
How vivid is this image
Like a bright and shining star

My heart calls out your name
In the stillness of the night
Hoping my wishes will come true
How I hope with all my might

I cast out my dreams
Into the star studded sky
As I lie here and wait
How much I'm hoping for a reply

My love travels far
On a moonbeam you now appear
I try to reach out and touch you
As your image is so clear

I'm like a sailor adrift on the ocean

Surrounded by love's calming waters

Before we are washed upon the sand
