Come step inside this lovely church
To rest, think, give thanks, and pray
The quiet calm in this holy place
Will drive all your cares away.
Feel within these simple walls
A gentle breeze moving round
Sacred music and murmured prayers
Go on in a soft and endless sound.
Couples at the old alter were wed
Birth and unions were blest
All that makes a human life
Loved ones were laid to rest.
My soul is singing in harmony
My heart with love is filled
The Lords loving benediction
Was upon me as I kneeled.
Now I lift my head and as I go out
Into this old world's busy mart
I have a new spring in my step
And God's peace singing in my heart.
