The price of friendship is minute,
It costs not much at all,
It consists from listening to words said,
Both big words and those small.
Of being there when you’re needed,
To extend a helping hand,
To show a smile and give a hug,
When they are in demand.
To spread much cheer to those in need,
To lift them when they’re down,
To dry their tears and help erase,
Their wearing of a frown.
And best friends know exactly,
Each step that they must take,
To answer when they‘re needed,
And to take a friendship break.
