In life perhaps one candle
Helps us through the storm
Carries us through darkness
Each flicker soft and warm


Inviting us to calmness
Giving us some peace
Shadow dancing rhythmically
It wraps the soul in fleece


There upon the table
The rose of life divine
Soft the velvet gathered
Upon this lace a shrine


Such beauty to imagine
With love that we will see
These simple gifts of beauty
That set the spirit free.
