Soon we will all be giving thanks
As we indulge on a turkey feast
Be thankful for the food you are blessed with
Now, that’s not a lot to ask for at the least
Bless the cranberry sauce, the dressing
The sweet potatoes, the pies
The laughter of your happy family
The love they behold in their eyes
Sitting, reminiscing around the table
Exchanging events from the year
Everything from memorable happiness
Right down to the heartaches and tears
Then soon after as you're cleaning off the table
And continue to put all the dishes away
Sit back in the spur of the moment
Just reflect on this blessed Thanksgiving Day
